ตลอดระยะเวลา 15 ชั่วโมงใน Campaign Mode ของ Super Mario Odyssey ก็จะสามารถทำให้ผู้เล่นนั่งยิ้มได้ตลอดเวลา และจุด Climax ในการผจญภัยในครั้งนี้ของช่างประปาก็สามารถทำให้ผู้เล่นเซอร์ไพรส์ได้สุด ๆ ซึ่งนี่ก็ถือว่าเป็นนิยามใหม่ที่ยอดเยี่ยมของเกมแนว Platform ที่เคยมีอยู่เมื่อ 30 ปีที่แล้ว ถึงแม้ว่าจะเล่น Story Mode จบไปแล้วก็ตาม ตัวเกมก็ยังมีอะไรสนุก ๆ ให้ทำอีกมากมาย

เกมนี้เปรียบเสมือน Series Mario 3D ที่ต่อเนื่องกันมา แต่สำหรับ Odyssey จะเป็นมากกว่านั้น โดยทั่วไปแล้วเกม Mario สามารถขายได้ด้วยตัวเองอยู่แล้ว ไม่ว่าจะเป็นรูปแบบของตัวเกมที่ลื่นไหล เล่นได้ทุกเพศทุกวัย ฐานแฟน ๆ ที่มีอยู่ทั่วโลก และเพลงประกอบที่คุ้นหู แต่ในภาคนี้ยังสามารถนำเสนอสิ่งใหม่ ๆ เช่น การนำเอาการเล่นแบบ 2D มาไว้ในโลกแบบ 3D ได้อย่างละเอียดลออ และความสามารถในการควบคุมสิ่งต่าง ๆ ที่ช่วยเพิ่มความหลากหลายให้กับ Gameplay ได้อย่างดี ถือว่าเป็นอีกหนึ่งจุดเด่นที่ภาคนี้ทางทีมผู้พัฒนาตั้งใจนำเสนอเลย

Gameplay : ระบบภายในเกม

ในภาคนี้ผู้เล่นจะได้ร่วมมือกับหมวกที่ชื่อ Cappy ที่อยู่บนหัวของ Mario โดยผู้เล่นจะได้ใช้ความสามารถของ Cappy โดยการปาหมวกใส่ Character ต่าง ๆ และร่างของ Mario ก็จะถูกกลืนลงไปในสิ่งนั้น ๆ ซึ่งนั่นจะทำให้ผู้เล่นสามารถควบคุมและใช้ความสามารถของมันได้นั่นเอง นอกจากนั้นยังสามารถใช้ Cappy ให้เป็นอาวุธหรือเป็นฐานให้ Mario สามารถกระโดดได้สูงขึ้นอีกด้วย โดยเจ้าความสามารถของ Cappy นี่แหละ ที่ทำให้ผู้เล่นอมยิ้มไปได้ตลอดทั้งเกม
